After losing back-to-back Games in the Ghana Premier League, Accra Hearts of Oak has finally bounced back to winning ways after they recorded a 3-0 victory against Berekum Chelsea at the Golden City Park in midweek.
Coach Alhassan Ouatarra fielded a strong starting lineup strong enough to beat Berekum Chelsea. Hearts of Oak started the game on a high note as they kept on knocking on the doors of their opponents for an opener.
In the 20th minute, Hamza Issah struck the ball into the net of the home team which the Goalkeeper for Berekum Chelsea Obeng Sekyere could do nothing about. That gave them a 1-0 advantage going into the first Half Break.
Back from recess, Linda Mtange scored in the 59th minute with an individual solo effort to make it 2-0 for the Phobia BoysPhobia Boys at the Golden City Park. The home team kept on pushing in g for an equalizer but all efforts to bring smiles to the faces of the fans yielded no results.
Ivorian attacker Kasim Cisse made an instant impact as he scored the third goal for Accra Hearts of Oak in the 83rd minute just a few minutes after coming on to replace Issah Kuka.
Berekum Chelsea nearly scored a consolation in the 87th minute but Hearts Goalkeeper Kwesi Nketiah came to the rescue of his team denying the home side a goal.
Berekum Chelsea is yet to record a victory against Accra Hearts of Oak in the last 7 meetings between both sides. Hearts of Oak is now in the 11th position after 29 games played while Chelsea remains in the 8th position with 41 points.
