The Ghanaian government is embarking on a rebranding initiative for public basic schools, with the Minister of Education unveiling plans to update the traditional yellow and brown color scheme to a more modern blue and white palette.
At a ceremony hosted on the University of Professional Studies Campus, Minister of Education Dr. Yaw Osei-Adutwum unveiled the Government of Ghana’s initiative to revitalize public Basic Schools across the nation
In his address, the Minister stressed the importance of providing Ghanaian studentsGhanaian students with improved educational opportunities, underscoring the initiative to enhance Public Schools throughout the country.
“You see, you don’t see brown and yellow, we are rebranding public schools. No brown and yellow, blue and white, and we are changing the uniforms too”.
The Minister highlighted that this initiative, spearheaded by the President of Ghana, is already underway in several elementary schools nationwide.
“ This is President Akufo-Addo and Vice-President Mahamudu Bawumia’s Ghana.
“We have begun the transformation. There’s no reason why we should not. Ghana deserves better, and we’re going to give them better, something that we can all be proud of”
This signifies the second uniform revision during the Akufo-Addo Administration, with the previous alteration in 2019 led by the former Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh.
