As Ghana’s all-time leading Goalscorer at the FIFA World Cup Asamoah Gyan turns 39 years old today, Here are some facts and achievements of the Former Ghana international and the Black Stars legend during his playing days and after his exit from the national team.
Baby Jet Boxing Promotion.
Asamoah Gyan in June 2012 announced the establishment of his Boxing Promotion where he stated that he would like to help upcoming boxers become like boxing Legends Azumah Nelson, Ike Quartey and Joshua Clottey. The Baby Jet boxing Promotion became one of the leading boxing Promotions in Ghana signing and nurturing top boxers like Emmanuel Tagoe.
Baby Jet Airlines.
Founded in 2017 by professional footballer Asamoah Gyan and officially launched by President Nana Addo Dankwah Akuffo Addo was awarded an Air Carriers License by the Ghana Aviation Authority. The Airlines however ceased operations in 2019 due to Covid 19 virus. The Ghanaian Footballer hinged that the Airlines will start operations soon in Ghana.
Baby Jet Tennis Tournament
In 2020 Baby Jet launched a Tennis Invitational tournament in which he participated in himself to keep himself fit due to a long break away from football due to injury. He also linked up with MANCWA to run an invitational tournament to help promote Tennis in Ghana.
Aside from these Achievements, Asamoah Gyan is also the first man to score in 9 consecutive major international tournaments:
