Member of Parliament for the Effutu Constituency on the ticket of the New Patriotic Party Afenyo-Markin has promised each BECE graduate money to aid in preparations as they enter Senior High School.
In a viral video on social media, the majority leader of parliament, in his address to the constituency members, pledged 1000 Ghana cedis each to all students who have just been admitted to various Senior High Schools in the country. The Honorable Minister of Parliament said this money would aid and support students in his constituency as they begin SHS.
Afenyo-Markin, who has been a member of Parliament for the Efutu constituency since 2012, explained that the said amount of money is to support the buying of provisions as students go to school despite the free senior high school policy. He further explained that this is part of his initiative to ensure that no student is left out of the Effutu constituency without benefiting from the free Senior High School Programme.
