Leader and founder of the Ghana Freedom Party Akua Donkor reportedly passed away on Monday, October 28th, 2024, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.
According to multiple sources, Akua Donkor, who was set to run for president on the ticket of the Ghana Freedom Party ahead of the 2024 General Elections, was diagnosed with respiratory issues upon arrival at the Nsawam Hospital before being transferred to the Ridge Hospital in Accra.
The 72-year-old has been aspiring to become the President of Ghana since the 2016 General elections, with her main focus on improving agriculture and empowering women. Ghanaians have taken to social media to sympathize with the bereaved family as they mourn their beloved mother, Akua Donkor.
With barely 39 days left for the 2024 general elections, the Ghana Freedom Party leader was number three on the ballot box and, after two unsuccessful attempts, was hoping to become Ghana’s next president.
