NSMQ 2024: Presbyterian Boys’ Sec. School books semifinal slot

Presbyterian Boys’ Sec. School, eight-time winners of the National Science and Math quiz have qualified for the semi-final stage of the 2024 edition of the competition.

PRESEC competed against Pope Jones Senior High School and St. James Seminary SHS in the quarter-final stages for a spot in the semi-finals. In the first round of the competition, Presbyterian Boys’ Sec. School led with 26pts while Pope John SHS & Min. Sem followed closely with 21pts and St. James Sem. SHS with 20pts.

At the end of the second round, PRESEC continued their dominance with 38pts and Pope John SHS & Min. Seminary School with 30 pts. With the third round which is the Problem of the day, Pope John SHS & Min. Sem scored 3/10 while Presbyterian Boys’ Sec. The school scored 2/10 and St. James Sem. SHS scored 1/10.

Presbyterian Boys’ Sec. School widened the gap in the 4th round with 50pts as against Pope John SHS & Min. Sem School’s 43pts. Presec added 9 points in the final round to seal the victory and ensure their qualification to the semi-finals of the 2024 National Science and Math Quiz.
