After a disappointing result against Sudan in the 2025 African Cup of Nations qualifiers, the Black Stars of Ghana have dropped three places in the latest FIFA Rankings.

Ghana, before October’s international break, found itself in the 70th position globally. However, after playing a 0-0 draw against Sudan at home and recording a defeat away, the Black Stars have dropped from the 70th to the 73rd position in the latest rankings.

In Africa, the black stars have also moved from the 11th position to the 14th position in the FIFA Rankings released by FIFA. Morocco still occupies the top spot in Africa, followed by Senegal, Egypt, Nigeria, and Algeria.

Ivory Coast, Tunisia, Cameroon, Mali and Congo Republic occupy the 6th to 10th places respectively. Globally Argentina remains the highest-ranked team in the world followed by France, Spain, England and Brazil.

The Black Stars will be hoping for good results when they face Angola and Niger in the remaining 2025 African Cup of Nations games.
