Micheal Essien a former Professional footballer of the Black Stars of Ghana has made some revelations during his playing days for the Ghana National Football team.
The 41-year-old currently with Danish Super Liga Coach FC Nordjeaslland as a Talent Scout Coach has revealed that his major injuries throughout his career occurred while playing for the Black Stars of Ghana.
Micheal Esseien started his football career in Ghana before moving to Europe to join Lyon in the 20023-2005 Season. He later joined Chelsea, Real Madrid (2012-2013) and AC Milan in the 2014 – 2015 Season.
The Ghanaianfiest made his international debut for the Ghana National U-17 team before being transitioned to the senior team in 2002. He first played for the Black Stars in the 2002 African Cup of Nations tournament against Morocco.
The former Black Stars player’s first National Team injury was against Senegal in 2007 during an international friendly game in London. The player explained to Joy Sports Journalist Fentuo Tahiru Fentuo that injuries are part of the game since they also give opportunities to other players to showcase their talents.
The midfielder made 59 appearances for the Black Stars of Ghana including three FIFA World Cup Appearances scoring 9 goals in the process.
