Three persons died and several others sustained injuries in an accident that happened at Gomoa Mprumem on the Mankessim-Winneba Highway on Thursday afternoon (September 5, 2024).
According to a witness report, three persons died on the spot while eight others sustained various degrees of injury after a Toyota Hiace minibus with registration 805-24 burst a tire, somersaulted, and caught fire at Gomoa Mprume. There were swift attempts by members of the Apam community to quench the fire at the scene till the arrival of the Ghana National Fire Service.
The injured persons were quickly rushed to the Trauma and Specialist Hospital and Winneba Municipal Hospital for treatment, while the three deceased were taken to the St. Luke Catholic Hospital Mòrtuary.
