Speaking at the launch of the NDC’s 2024 campaign in Tamale on Saturday, July 27, John Mahama pledged to enhance the Free SHS policy.
He vowed to eradicate the double-track system, ensuring all senior high school students can attend school concurrently. ‘We aim to improve the Free SHS program by abolishing the double-track system, allowing all students to attend school at the same time and close at the same time,’ he emphasized. Mahama criticized the current system, stating,
‘We don’t want our children to stay home for four months before returning to school.’ He promised to work tirelessly to rectify this issue and provide a better education experience for all.
