According to Kennedy Agyapong, Member of Parliament for Assin Central, the New Patriotic Party (NPP) must acknowledge the economic hardships faced by Ghanaians and apologize for their struggles in order to gain acceptance of their campaign message ahead of the December elections. Agyapong emphasized that the party must take responsibility for its actions during its seven years in office and outline a clear plan to address the country’s economic challenges if re-elected.
Speaking at the launch of the NPP’s Ablekuma South Constituency election campaign, Agyapong stressed the importance of humility and unity in ensuring the party’s victory in the December 7 polls. He urged party members to acknowledge their mistakes, apologize to Ghanaians, and convince them to give the NPP another chance to address the economic hardships.
Agyapong reiterated the need for all party members to support Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP flagbearer, in order to “break the 8” – a reference to the party’s goal of winning a third consecutive term in office. He emphasized that everyone must work together to ensure Bawumia’s victory, stating, “We are all not going to sit back, we will all support Dr. Bawumia to win.
