Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emphasized that the harmonious coexistence of democracy and the rule of law fosters a conducive environment, where individual liberties are safeguarded, creativity and innovation are encouraged, and economic growth is stimulated. This synergy creates a fertile ground for progress, allowing citizens to reach their full potential and driving national development.

In a call to action for African leaders and governments, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia emphasized the importance of empowering citizens through education and quality healthcare, promoting free enterprise and individual liberties, and harnessing digitalization for transparent governance. He also stressed the need for closer cooperation among nations. Dr. Bawumia made these remarks in a Facebook post following his participation as Special Guest at the Democratic Union of Africa (DUA) Annual Forum in Accra.

As Africa continues to consolidate democracy, he highlighted the interconnectedness of democracy, rule of law, and economic development. By safeguarding individual freedoms, fostering innovation, and promoting economic growth, democracy and the rule of law create a conducive environment for progress.

Dr. Bawumia’s post concluded with a rallying cry:

“Let us work together to make democracy a cornerstone of African development.” By prioritizing citizen empowerment, good governance, and regional cooperation, African leaders can create a brighter future for the continent.
